While the COVID-19 and the resultant lockdown affected the celebrations last year, the festive season finally seems to be getting back on track.

The country is celebrating Diwali this week, giving an opportunity to companies and banks to incentivise their business by offering discounts on a range of items from jewellery to smartphones.

The lockdown was heavy on most, and affected the finances of several families. However, to ensure that these temporary setbacks do not come in the way of Diwali shopping and celebrations, a number of festive offers are up for grabs this year.

State Bank of India- #KhushiyonKaSwagat

This Diwali, if a customer of State Bank of India (SBI) applies for a car loan through YONO app, then they can get an interest rate concession of up to 0.5%, with zero processing fees, the bank said in a tweet.

Customers can get cash back offers up to Rs 2,500 on every purchase on e-commerce sites such as Flipkart and Amazon. Besides, one can get instant loan approval now.

The bank is offering car loans from 7.25%, gold loans from 7.50%, personal loans from 9.60%.

Additionally, the home loan offer which was started in September is still there. SBI currently offers home loans at only 6.7% for any amount and any tenure without any processing fees.

ICICI Bank- #FestiveBonanza

ICICI Bank launched ‘Festive Bonanza’ with a complete range of offers, heavy discounts and cash back available on a range of products, including luxury items from premium brands and leading e-commerce platforms.

As part of the ‘Festive Bonanza’, the bank is offering up to 20% cash back and discount on every purchase on Amazon, Myntra, Flipkart, Jiomart, Reliance Digital, among other platforms.

Besides, benefits are there for retail and business customers on various banking products and services such as home loan, car loan, overdraft facility and others.

HDFC Bank- #FestiveTreats

HDFC bank has partnered with over 10,000 merchants across more than 100 locations to offer special deals specifically created for their personal and business needs in this Diwali time.

Benefits offered to customers include cash backs and no-cost EMIs on premium mobile phones, up to 22.5% cash back and no-cost EMI on electronics and consumer goods such as washing machines and refrigerators on shopping platform Amazon by using HDFC Bank’s credit and debit cards.

Personal loans starting at 10.25% interest with instant disbursal in account are also there. Customers can avail car loans starting at 7.50% with zero foreclosure charges and funding of up to 100% on two-wheeler loans and 4% less on interest rates, the bank said

BOI- #BOIUtsav

Bank of India has announced a 35 basis-point cut in its home loan interest rates and 50 basis-point reduction in vehicle loan interest rates. The minimum rate now starts at 6.50% against 6.85% on home loans and 6.85% against 7.35% earlier on vehicle loans.

This special rate, which was effective from October 18 till December 31, is available for customers applying for fresh loans, and for those seeking transfer of loans. Processing charges have also been waived for both the loans till 2022.

Axis Bank- #DilSeOpenCelebrations

Axis Bank is offering waivers of 12 EMIs on select home loan products in this festive season and providing on-road finance without any processing fees for two-wheelers customers.

To boost local retailers during this season, Axis Bank has roped in more than 2,500 local stores across 50 cities. The bank customers will get discounts up to 20% on shopping from these stores. Besides, one can get 10% or more cash back when purchasing on popular e-commerce platforms such as Flipkart and Amazon.

BOB- #KhushiyonKaTyohaar

Bank of Baroda also extended Diwali offers. This bank has slashed interest rates on both home car loans that start from 6.5% and 7% respectively. Processing charges are also waived for both the loans.

Lenders in the BFSI space are gearing up for the festive season, offering reduced interest rates on home and vehicle loans, and other discounts to customers.

Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India and Kotak Mahindra Bank are among the banks providing festive offers, while Mahindra Finance is among the non-bank lenders offering discounts on its loan products.

Mahindra Finance
Mahindra Finance on Wednesday launched festive offers on its vehicle loans for two months, providing offers and discounts to customers at competitive rates.

‘Shubh Utsav’ has been launched with immediate effect, and will continue till the end of November. It has special finance schemes, specifically for customers who plan to avail vehicle loans during these two months.

The offers can be availed across India. Below are the offers:
>SUV Loans (Mahindra brand) at interest rates starting 7.35%

>Up to 100% funding

>Loan tenure up to 7 years

>Buy now and pay after 60 days

>50% waiver on processing fees

>Pre-owned car loans at interest rates starting 12%

>Loan on tractor Implements at zero processing fee

>Quarterly and half yearly EMI for select customers for Car and Tractor loans

Punjab National Bank

PNB on Wednesday cut its gold loan rates by 145 basis points, and is now offering loans against sovereign gold bond at 7.20% and against gold jewellery at 7.30%.

The bank is also offering a full waiver of service charges and processing fee on the loans against gold jewellery and sovereign gold bond.

Earlier, the bank, as part of its festive offers, had announced a cut in home loan rate, which now starts from 6.60%, car loan rate, starting from 7.15%, and personal loan rate, from 8.95%.

ICICI Bank

ICICI Bank on Tuesday announced the launch of ‘Home Utsav’, a virtual property exhibition that digitally showcases real estate projects across cities. The exhibition will offer convenience to prospective home buyers as they can select their home by browsing through projects, approved by the bank, and avail benefits.

The offer is from October 7,2021, to December 31, 2021.

Attractive interest rate on home loans, special processing fees and digital sanction of loans and exclusive offers from developers are among the benefits that are being offered to the customers.

Furthermore, anyone, including those who are not customers of ICICI Bank, can avail of these benefits on buying a property through the exhibition, the bank said. Customers of ICICI Bank can further avail for the bank’s pre-approved home loan offers.

As India nears its festive season, Punjab National Bank has cut its gold loan rates by 145 basis points, and is now offering loans against sovereign gold bond at 7.20% and against gold jewellery at 7.30%.

PNB is also offering a full waiver of service charges and processing fee on the loans against gold jewellery and sovereign gold bond, the bank said in a statement.

Earlier, the bank, as part of its festive offers, had announced a cut in home loan rate, which now starts from 6.60%, car loan rate, starting from 7.15%, and personal loan rate, from 8.95%.

The bank also slashed the margin on home loans. Home loan seekers can now avail of loans up to 80% of the property’s value without any upper ceiling on the loan amount.

With the reduction in interest rate and zero processing fee, funds are available at a very competitive rate on a range of retail loan products during this season, it said.

Private lender HDFC Bank on Tuesday said that it has partnered with over 10,000 merchants for its Festive Treats 3.0 campaign, a near 10 fold increase from 2020. Customers can choose from 10,000 offers on cards, loans and easy EMIs.

“As India unlocks, we are also trying to spread a little cheer in the lives of people and help the overall national economic good,” said Arvind Kapil, Group Head – Retail Assets, HDFC Bank. “This is reflected in our range of offers spanning Personal loans, Car loans, two-wheeler loans as well as the Business Loan & working capital loans for really small businesses.”

Some of the key national partners include Apple, Amazon, Shoppers Stop, LG, Samsung, Sony, Titan, Central, Ajio, Reliance Digital, Reliance Trends, Lifestyle among others.

The bank will use its ATM, branch network, partnerships with stores & websites and digital media campaigns to reach its customers.

“Our range of offers on credit cards is not just about coming back with a bang. It is about spurring India’s consumption story,” said Parag Rao, Group Head – Payments, Consumer Finance, Digital Banking, and IT, HDFC Bank. “We are encouraged to do this since about one-third of spends on credit, debit and prepaid cards in India happens on an HDFC Bank card.”

The bank said it has a cash back offer of Rs Rs 6,000 on iPhone 13. It is also offering upto 22.5% CashBack & No Cost EMI on electronics & consumer goods like washing machines and refrigerators.

The bank will offer personal loans starting at 10.25% with instant disbursal in customers account. Its car loans will start at 7.50% with Zero Foreclosure charges.

It is also giving options of funding of up to 100% on two-wheeler loans and 90% funding on tractor loans with zero processing fee.

Bank of Baroda announces festive offers on retail loans, BFSI News, ET BFSI

State-owned Bank of Baroda on Thursday rolled out a slew of festive offers for its retail borrowers. The lender is offering a waiver of 0.25 per cent in the existing applicable rates for Baroda Home Loans and Baroda Car Loans, according to a release.

The bank’s home loan rates start at 6.75 per cent and car loan rates at 7 per cent.

It has also waived off processing fee on home loans.

“With the introduction of these retail loan offers for this festive season, we intend to bring festive cheer among our existing loyal customers and also offer new to bank customers an attractive proposition for availing home loans and car loans,” the bank’s general manager (mortgages & other retail assets) H T Solanki said.

Customers can apply for home or car loans by using the lender’s mobile banking application or its website for instant sanction.

Earlier in the day, State Bank of India (SBI) announced various festive offers for prospective home loan customers, including credit score-linked home loans starting at 6.70 per cent, irrespective of the loan amount.
