Agriwise Finserv Limited, an agri-focussed NBFC, has entered into a co-lending agreement with Central Bank of India for agri-loan disbursal.

The co-lending agreement will ensure that the farmer, agri and allied community get finance at affordable rates in a simple, transparent and speedy manner. The loan will be disbursed at a blended interest rate, as per the RBI directive on co-lending of loans, the company said in a statement.

Govt extends tenure of Bank of India executive director PR Rajagopal by two years

State-run Bank of India on Monday said the government has extended the term of its executive director PR Rajagopal by two years.

The central government vide notification dated August 26, 2021 extended the term of office of PR Rajagopal, Executive Director of the bank for a period of two years, beyond his currently notified term or until further orders, whichever is earlier, the bank said in a regulatory filing.

His current term was to expire on February 28, 2022.

The government last week extended the term of executive directors of various public sector banks. It also extended the terms of MD & CEOs of Punjab National Bank and Bank of Maharashtra.

S Srimathy takes over as ED at IOB

S Srimathy has assumed charge as the Executive Director of Indian Overseas Bank. Prior to this, she served as Chief General Manager at Canara Bank. She had been deputed to NABARD as Chief Vigilance Officer immediately before her appointment to Indian Overseas Bank.

Srimathy joined Canara Bank as a Probationary Officer in November 1986. She has 34+ years of banking experience across categories of branches from rural to metro, and is well exposed to various verticals such as branch operations, mid & large credits, human resources and risk management.

She headed Canara Bank’s prime corporate branch at Cuffe Parade, Mumbai, for over three years. She also headed the corporate credit wing and international operations at Canara Bank’s head office before becoming head of Chennai Circle.

She holds a post-graduate degree in commerce, along with a masters in business administration. She is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (CAIIB).

New Delhi: Public-sector lender Canara Bank on Monday said its Executive Director Matam Venkata Rao has been appointed as the new MD & CEO of Central Bank of India. The central government through a gazette notification on February 26, 2021 has appointed Matam Venkata Rao, Executive Director, Canara Bank, as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer in Central Bank of India for a period of three years, Canara Bank said in a regulatory filing.

Rao’s appointment in the Central Bank of India will be effective from the date of assumption of office on or after March 1, 2021, or until further orders, whichever is earlier, said the lender.

“He ceases to be the Executive Director of Canara Bank with effect from March 1, 2021,” Canara Bank said.

In May last year, the Banks Board Bureau had recommended Rao to be the new MD & CEO of Central Bank of India.

Rao’s appointment is in lieu of M D Pallav Mohapatra, who retired as the MD & CEO of Central Bank of India on February 28, 2021.
