Aditya Birla Capital reported a 42.6 per cent surge in its consolidated net profit to ₹376.9 crore in the second quarter of the fiscal, led by robust growth in revenue. Its net profit was ₹264.34 crore in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal.

This was its highest ever consolidated quarterly profit.

For the quarter ended September 30, total revenue from operations rose by 21.7 per cent to ₹5,593.22 crore from ₹4,595.17 crore in the same period last year.

“The company, through its subsidiaries, continues to maintain its track record of delivering strong performance through market and macroeconomic cycles, backed by its diversified business model,” it said in a statement on Monday.

Its retailisation strategy has led to the active customer base growing by 42 per cent year-on-year to about 2.8 crore.

Rise in AUM

Overall assets under management across asset management, life insurance and health insurance businesses grew 24 per cent-year on year, to over ₹3,70,290 crore.

The overall lending book (NBFC and housing finance) was ₹59,060 crore as of September 30.

The gross premium across life and health insurance for the half year grew 25 per cent year-on-year to ₹5,685 crore.

New Delhi, Aditya Birla Capital on Monday reported its highest ever quarterly profit of Rs 377 crore on a consolidated basis in July-September 2021 on the back of strong growth across its business verticals. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 264 crore in the same period a year ago.

The consolidated profit after tax (after minority interest) grew 43 per cent year-on-year, to Rs 377 crore, the highest level ever recorded by the company, Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (ABCL) said in a release.

The consolidated revenue of the company grew by 22 per cent to Rs 5,961 crore during the July-September period of 2021-22, as against Rs 4,885 crore in the same period of 2020-21.

The active customer base grew to about 28 million (2.8 crore), a 42 per cent year on year growth. “The company’s focus on building scale, growing its retail base and delivering consistent profitability, continues to yield results,” it said.

The overall asset under management (AUM) across asset management, life insurance and health insurance businesses grew by 24 per cent from a year ago to over Rs 3,70,290 crore as of September 30, 2021.

The gross premium across life and health insurance during April-September FY22 grew by 25 per cent y-o-y to Rs 5,685 crore, reflecting the scale in insurance businesses, it added.

The overall lending book of NBFC and housing finance at Rs 59,060 crore shows the scale of the lending businesses, ABCL said.

The company said it has raised over Rs 6,000 crore of long-term funds in the lending business in the first half of FY2021-22.

ABCL shares traded at Rs 98.85 apiece on BSE, up 2.17 per cent from the previous close.

Aditya Birla Capital on Friday said it has reported the highest-ever quarterly net profit of Rs 375 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2021.

It had posted a net profit of Rs 144 crore in the year-ago period.

The non-banking financial company said it posted strong growth across businesses leading to delivery of the highest ever consolidated profit, despite a COVID-hit year.

The highest ever quarterly net profit at Rs 375 crore grew by 2.6 times year-on-year.

Revenue during the fourth quarter of the financial year 2020-21 rose by 16 per cent to Rs 5,917 crore as against Rs 5,085 crore in the year-ago period.

For the full year 2020-21, the company’s net profit grew by 22 per cent to Rs 1,127 crore as against Rs 920 crore in the previous financial year.

Revenue during the year rose by 14 per cent to Rs 20,447 crore from Rs 17,927 crore, ABCL said.

The active customer base grew by 22 per cent to 2.4 crore aided by the focus on granular retail growth across businesses.

The company’s AUM (assets under management) across asset management, life insurance, and health insurance businesses rose 10 per cent year on year, to over Rs 3,35,000 crore.

Overall lending book (NBFC and housing finance) grew by 2 per cent, nearly at Rs 60,000 crore.

Gross premium (life and health) grew by 25 per cent to Rs 11,076 crore, with the retail mix at 72 per cent, reflecting the scale in insurance, ABCL said.

The stock of the company closed at Rs 121.35 apiece on BSE, up 1.68 per cent from the previous close.

Aditya Birla Capital Q4 net profit surges 161%

Aditya Birla Capital’s consolidated net profit surged by 161.1 per cent to ₹375.15 crore in the fourth quarter of the fiscal 2020-21 as against ₹143.67 crore in the same quarter in the previous fiscal.

Its consolidated net profit increased by 22.5 per cent to ₹1,126.54 crore, as compared to ₹919.78 crore in 2019-20.

For the quarter ended March 31, 2021, Aditya Birla Capital posted a 16.2 per cent jump in its total revenue from operations to ₹5,586.83 crore (₹4,808.16 crore in previous fiscal).

“The retailisation strategy has led to the active customer base growing to about 24 million, a 22 per cent year on year growth,” it said in a statement on Friday, adding that the overall assets under management across asset management, life insurance and health insurance businesses grew 10 per cent year on year, to over ₹3,35,000 crore.

The overall lending book including NBFC and housing finance grew two per cent year on year to ₹60,557 crore.

The gross premium (across life and health insurance) grew 25 per cent year on year to ₹11,076 crore.
